A few weeks ago, a customer reached out with a phrase that stuck with me: “vintage vibe with a modern twist.” She had a clear picture in her head. She wanted pink and white. She loved the scroll work we had on one of our other toppers. She didn’t want script, the flowing calligraphy a lot of toppers default to felt too traditional for what she had in mind. And somewhere on the piece, she wanted a small cross. Her faith was part of her wedding, and she wanted it part of her cake too.
We went back and forth for a while. Sketches. Tweaks. Borders that were too heavy, fonts that were too thin, layouts that leaned too far in one direction. Eventually, we landed on a design that gave her everything she asked for, and we liked it enough to build a version of it into the shop.

The design (now available to order)
A tall clear acrylic topper, roughly 5 inches wide by 6 inches tall, with small rounded edges that give it a softer, more modern silhouette. Inside that clean panel sits a scrollwork border with floral flourishes at the corners, the glamour part, framing two names and a date.
The version we listed shows clear acrylic with white painted script names, but the whole point of this design is how much it flexes. Pink and white like our customer’s. Frosted acrylic with gold. Sans-serif fonts instead of script. A small icon between the date and the border: hearts, infinity, rings, a cross, whatever belongs in your story. The bones stay the same. The personality is yours.
The clear acrylic and soft rounded edges keep it from feeling like a costume. The vintage border keeps it from feeling cold. Modern bones, vintage soul. A topper that belongs at a candlelit reception in an old hotel ballroom, and equally at a backyard wedding with string lights and a wildflower cake.
How we make it
We laser-etch every topper by hand in our Palm Springs shop. No vinyl decals, no stickers, just 1/8” cast acrylic with the design cut and etched and painted into the surface so it stays crisp for years.
The scroll border was the part that took the longest to get right. Symmetrical without being stiff. Ornate without being fussy. Every curl had to read cleanly when etched, which means no thin lines that disappear, no detail that gets lost when the cake is white-on-white, or pink-on-white.
What you can personalize
Two names. Your wedding or anniversary date. Your choice of icon. Your colors for the border and text. Your fonts for both the names and the date. If you want to tweak the layout, send us a note, we’ll work with you on it. Every order gets a digital proof before we cut anything. That’s how our customer got her pink-and-white, no-script, cross-included topper, and it’s how you’ll get yours.
Who it’s for
Whoever you love. Whatever you carry into the day with you. This topper is for the people who want both eras in the same piece, the old romance and the modern hand that holds it.
