High School Survival

Daily writing prompt
Describe something you learned in high school.

How to survive! Didn’t we all learn that?

High school was where you found out you were either cool or not, and “finding your tribe” meant hunkering down and figuring out how to get through each day without losing yourself to your insecurities. It wasn’t just about classes or grades; it was a crash course in social navigation.

You learned to read the room, dodge the drama, blend in when it was safer, and stand out when you finally found the friends who saw you. Survival meant adapting, keeping your confidence intact while the world around you shifted every day.

It’s funny, they called it education. I suppose it was. But the real lessons were about endurance, identity, and belonging.

Unfortunately there was no grade for that, because I would have been valedictorian!
